Notes from Lake Livingston

  • The Camp Out:

    Spring Break Camp out started Thursday afternoon, most of our campers came early, Friday & Saturday saw swimming, fishing, great hiking, a few had their kities out on the pennisila.

Notes from Huntsville

  • The Camp Out:

    Very light spiting Friday & late Saturday Night did not create problems, Saturday was a nice dry day. Becca of the YMCA run a Survival Skills Activity, Fire Making, the kids showed great skills getting fire going with materials that were a little damp, also showed the kids how to filter water though a sock. Lots of hiking, Riverwind out for a number of hours.

Notes from Monster Jam

  • The Day Event:

    Being up and close to the Trucks at the Pit Pass Pre-event was really cool. The drivers were doing autograph and pictures. kids loved it, and ha so did the dads. The event was a great fun and and lasted a long time, lots of big air, and crashs.



Notes from Brazos Bend

  • The Camp Out:

    Friday Night was Damp! but around the fire you stayed warm. Saturday was great hiking, a number of the Alligators were out in the large lake. The Rangers had out snakes & a baby alligator at the nature center for the kids to touch. It was weird to see the trees they all had this two color look with the change at the same height, the level of flooding from Hurrican Harvey {see Gallery}.



Notes from Camp Cullen {Family}

  • The Camp Out:

    The Multi Nation Family Cullen was over a holiday weekend so we stayed to Monday, 2 whole days of Archery, .22 at Rifle Range, Alpine Climbing Tower, Zip-line Marathon Pipeline, arts and crafts and more. Nice ride on the Horses. Katy Nation run the Saturday Night Council Fire, the Nation has some great Leaders and with some great traditions they do. Muwin run Sunday Night Council Fire at the Quarry, a very large Fire. Food was really good.

Notes from Schlitterbahn

  • The Day Event:

    For some reason Park Closed this winter, event cancelled.



Notes from Enchanted Rock / Oxford Ranch

  • The Camp Out:

    Oxford Ranch was a great base, low on amenities but solid for what we needed. A number of Dads kids were off early to go Rock Climbing with specialist guides, 5-6 hours of fun. Great reviews from the climbers. The Nation spent most of the day at Enchanted Rock, lovely day a little windy, lots of tied kids after all the climbing.

Notes from Garner

  • The Camp Out:

    The kids hit the Frio river saturday a few dads joined in, a neat area that had a natural slide in the river. Lots of great hiking & biking. Couple of the Dads even got there Thursday Night

  • Well done Pumpkin Makers:

    Great Pumpkins - The Tribes all had some great pumpkins, well done kids



Notes from Inks Lake

  • The Camp Out:

    The Weather was great. The Park Rangers activate saturday morning, "whats in the Lake", was fun for the kids to see up close the different fish etc in the lake. Devils Waterhole got lots of use, what brave jumpers we have. Snow Cones from Marleys hit the mark.
